Meaning of Aims and Objectives in English Language Teaching
What is an Aim in English Language Teaching?
An Aim refers to the broad, general and long-term goal of teaching English. It indicates what the teacher wants learners to achieve after completing a course or a stage of education. Aims provide direction to the teaching–learning process.

To enable learners to communicate effectively in English in their
academic, social and professional life.
What is an Objective in English Language Teaching?
An Objective is a specific, precise and measurable learning outcome that learners are expected to achieve during a lesson, unit or activity. Objectives are short-term and guide classroom teaching and assessment.
Example (Objective):
Students will be able to introduce themselves in English using
five correct sentences.
