What is Learning?

Learning is a process that leads to a change in behavior or knowledge as a result of experience. It involves acquiring new, or modifying existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences.

Definitions by Psychologists

B.F. Skinner

Learning is a process of acquiring new behavior through conditioning. Skinner emphasized operant conditioning, where behaviors are influenced by the consequences that follow them.

Jean Piaget

Learning is a process of adaptation through assimilation and accommodation. Piaget focused on how children construct knowledge through interactions with their environment.

Albert Bandura

Learning occurs through observation and imitation. Bandura's social learning theory highlights the importance of observing and modeling the behaviors, attitudes, and emotional reactions of others.
