Different forms of visual and performing arts.

The art is comprised of two types

·        Visual Arts

·        Performing Arts

Visual Arts

Visual Art is a form of Art where one can see.

An artist uses paper, canvas, and clay, metal, paint etc. which can be moulded or transformed to create some physical or art object.

The following belongs to Visual Art

Drawing

Painting

Photography

Film-making

Computer Art

Plastic Art

Architect etc...

Drawing

Drawing is a form of visual expression and one of the most practiced forms of Visual Art.

The purpose of drawing is to leave a visible mark on a two-dimensional medium by making varied lines or shapes with varied tones.

Drawing is a means of making an image, using any of wide variety of tools and techniques.

It generally involves making marks on a surface by applying pressure from a tool or moving a tool across a surface using dry media such as graphite, pencils, pen and ink ,inked brushes ,wax colour pencils ,crayons etc.  

 Painting

 

Painting is often called the most important form of visual Art. It is about Putting Colours on canvas or walls. Painter express ideas through a mixture of colour and different brush strokes.

Painting is a method of putting pigment on a surface. The pigment can be paint, crayon or any other Material which can also be done with hands/fingers, knife, spatulas etc.

Photography

Photography is making pictures by letting light through the lenses of camera onto a film. Photography was recorded a film, which had to be chemically developed. Images could then be printed onto special paper. Photography is the process of making of pictures by means of action of light. Today photography is digital.

Film-making

Film-making is the process of making a motion picture, from an initial conception and research, through script writing, shooting and recording, animation or other special effects, editing, sound and music work and finally distribution to an audience.

Performing Arts

Performing arts is a form of art where artists use their voices and bodies to convey message in relation to convey artistic expression.

The basics of all performing arts are Listening, Viewing, Imbibing, Imitating, Exploring, Expressing, and Performing etc. When we see or practically do a dance, music or drama performance all our sensory motors awaken as we spontaneously indulge in all the above traits.

Music

Human being has imitated and reproduced sound from environment and surroundings and paved the way for systematic arrangement of sound. We listen to music in our everyday life from childhood on different occasion like on child birth, wedding, festival, at religious places etc. This music belongs to our region, where we find songs touching each part of our life and moods.

Dance

Dance is the expression of body, mind and soul. The co-ordination of body parts with face expression along with Music can be termed dance.

 India is a country of diverse culture and there are dances in every region which are inherited.

The important aspects in dance are body movement, facial expression, music, musical instruments, literature, space management, group and solo co-ordination, makeup, costumes etc.

Costumes and ornaments of dances are inspired by the atmospheric condition of any area. Regional dance form is performed in groups on religious occasions, marriages, any cultural event, Republic day parade, local festival of a particular region, movie cinema, tourist places etc.

These dances are performed solo, duet and in groups. In these dances people of varied age groups perform spontaneously in dances of their specific regions. E.g. in Gujarat Dandia or in Punjabi Bhangra we find thousands of people dancing together to the beat of regional music.

Drama

The word “Drama” originated from  Greek word “Drao” which means action. Drams are usually enacted by actors on stage for an audience. The structure of text for dramas is usually influence by collective reception and collaborative production.

It is a form of art where artist uses paint canvas and various material to create art objects

It is a form of art where artist uses their voices and bodies to convey a message or artistic expression.

 

The visual arts gives a way to express feeling, emotion, opinion or taste through visual means for instance photography, painting, sculpting, drawing

Through means of performance, drama theater, public speech, music more.

Visual arts are primarily created for Aesthetic purposes and judges for its beauty and meaningfulness.

It is basically arts or skills that require performance in front of public audience e.g. acting, singing and dancing.
